Amsterdam: W. & J. Blaeu, . Second Latin edition. Engraved title page (old coloured and heightened in gold) + 139 mostly double-page plates, all finely coloured by a contemporary hand. Original Dutch publisher's atlas binding in maroon leather gilt (restored), gilt-panelled with large central gilt arabesque, spine in eight compartments with raised bands, gilt edges. Collector's stamp "Walter Ashburner - Firenze" on frontispice and on last page, the same owner signature on the back of the front cover dated "Firenze,1908".
The second edition of Blaeu's Latin town atlas of the Netherlands differs from the first edition by the different distribution of the towns over the two volumes. Twenty-six maps from the second volume (Spanish Netherlands) of the first edition have now been incorporated in this first volume of the second edition.
