Pierre Lambert de Saumery (1690-1767)
Pierre-Lambert de Saumery, called Saumery, is a Calvinist writer, born in France around 1690 and died in Utrecht shortly after 1767. He was best known for having partly written the five volumes of Délices du pays de Liège, published by Everard Kints, printer to the prince-bishop. He wrote novels, but it is thanks to the Délices du Païs de Liège that he is, even today, read and quoted by local historians, esteemed by lovers of Liège books, and known by collectors of engravings of monuments of Liège and its surroundings.
Remacle Leloup (1694-1746)
Remacle Le Loup was a draftsman born in 1694 in Spa (Belgium), then in the Principality of Liège, and died on May 12, 1746. He is the author of most of the engravings of one of the most beautiful printed works of the 18th century: Les Délices du Pays de Liège.
