This map was first published in Ptolemy's Geographia by Ziletti in 1574 and subsequent editions by Rosaccio in 1598 and 1599.


Giuseppe Rosaccio (c. 1530 – 1621)

Italian physician and geographer. He is known for some geographic and cosmographic works, which brought him fame and were repeatedly reprinted. He wrote a book on the voyage from Venice to Constantinople, including maps of the itinerary accompanied by short texts. He also edited an edition of Ptolemy's Geography printed in Venice in 1598.
